Yacht racing, Loch Fyne

With so many rivers. lochs and coastal seas, Scotland is a natural sailor.

Live It!

You don’t need to have sea air in your blood to enjoy boating and sailing in Scotland. You can join a skippered cruise in sheltered waters or take some lessons at a local sailing school till you find your sea legs. Experienced sailors will find the waters around Scotland hold their own challenges. Cruising in Scotland is not all tough, demanding sailing, though; many areas are ideal for the relative beginner. Pilotage is straight-forward, tides are no stronger than in, say, the Solent. There is also little shipping, and fog is rare. Plus you get to see Scotland from a whole new angle.

The links to the left will steer you on the right course to a great sailing trip in Scotland.
