Edinburgh packs as much into its winter as it does the other three seasons. From late November the city goes all festive with markets, funfairs and glittering displays. Snow is a welcome optional extra. Before the turkey has even gone cold, Edinburgh gets set for the massive multi-day celebration that is Hogmanay.
