Live It!
Loch Lomond is the largest expanse of inland water in the British Isles. Boat trips let you get a sense of the sheer size of the loch in the context of its surrounding mountains.
The eastern shore of the loch is dominated by the towering mass of Ben Lomond, Scotland’s most climbed mountain and the most southerly of the country’s Munros (hills over 3,000 feet).
Loch Lomond is at the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Find out more about the Park at the National Park Visitor Centre at Balloch’s Loch Lomond Shores. You can also see what lives in the loch at the Loch Lomond Aquarium on the same site. The links on the left will provide you with much more detail on Loch Lomond and the surrounding villages.
