Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow

This Glasgow landmark occupies a special place in the hearts of generations of Glaswegians. More than likely, you’ll fall in love with it, too.

Live It!

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is home to one of Europe’s finest civic collections. It recently re-opened after major a restoration programme to provide a visitor attraction for the 21st century. There are 22 themed galleries with plenty of interactive exhibits. Expect to find works by celebrated Scottish architect and designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The iconic painting of ‘Christ of St John of the Cross’ by Salvador Dali is once more on show at Kelvingrove. Best of all, admission to the permanent exhibits is free.

As well as the permanent collections, Kelvingrove also hosts some blockbuster touring ones. 2007 even saw Kylie’s gold hot pants on show alongside her stunning stage costumes.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is open throughout the year, closing only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 1st and 2nd January. For details of what to see and how to get to Kelvingrove, click on the links to the left.
