Golden Eagle

Catching sight of one of these Scottish locals makes for a really special holiday moment.

Live It!

Scotland has a more diverse range of habitats than almost any country of comparable size. No surprise then to find just as diverse a variety of Scottish wildlife and sea-life. Look out for Golden Eagles soaring over mountains, deer grazing near forests, dolphins playing just off the coast.

There are specialist hides and centres around Scotland for an even better chance of viewing the likes of ospreys, without disturbing their routine. Driving around Scotland’s islands, you’re likely to occasionally share the road with flocks of sheep.

The best way to get close to nature is on foot. With the help of the Forestry Commission and Park Rangers, you can follow a number of trails and guided walks to increase your chances of seeing Scotland’s wildlife for yourself.

The links on the left will help get you on your way, with suggestions on where to visit and when is the best time to see different species of wildlife.
