Live It!
Summer transforms the Scottish landscape, and not just with flora and fauna. Humble fields near Kinross become the centre of the music world each July for T in the Park. The best-known names in golf flock to play hotly-contested championships in the game’s natural home. Top bikers descend on Fort William for the Mountain Bike World Cup. More sedate summer pleasures can be found at book festivals in cities and smaller towns around the country. And when it comes to festivals, the biggest of them all, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, fills every street and spare space in August with a celebration of the performing arts! The links to the left will help you find out how to book.
Of course, you don’t need to just be a summer spectator. There’s plenty opportunity to get involved yourself. There are centres for mountain biking, golf courses where you can hire clubs or get tuition. You can do a spot of wind-surfing, kayaking, fishing or hill-walking, too. Or just pack a picnic and head for the nearest park or beach. It’s what summer is all about!
