With three courses of its own, Carnoustie already ranks high on golfers’ wish lists. A 40-minute drive lets you take in many more, from Open Championship venues and qualifiers to less famous gems. But there’s more than just golf to keep you occupied on Scotland’s east coast.

Live It!

Carnoustie is a name known to golfers around the globe. It’s twice been host to the Open Championship in recent years, in 1999 and again in 2007. But despite three courses at Carnoustie and many more in the immediate vicinity, it’s not all about golf here.

Dundee is just down the road with its galleries, shopping, nightlife and nautical and industrial heritage. Royal and stately homes dot the landscape. Quaint villages surprise with top-notch restaurants and specialist boutiques. More than enough to fill any non-golfing days.

Carnoustie hugs the Angus coast just north of St Andrews and Dundee. It has its own train station on the main east coast line from Edinburgh and the south to Aberdeen. By car, the drives are as enjoyable on the roads as they are on the fairways. Book yourself some relaxing Carnoustie Links time by following the links on the left.
